Mr. Eric Lopez arrived at Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on November 13, 2018 from an inpatient hospitalization at Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Yonkers. Mr. Lopez was admitted to Sans Souci with a primary diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis with left sided weakness and recently sustained a fall. Mr. Lopez’s required a wheelchair for ambulation upon admission.

Mr. Lopez was greeted by multiple professionals of the Sans Souci interdisciplinary team whom had anticipated his arrival. Within the first 2 hours, he was greeted by clinicians, therapists, physicians, administrative staff, and many other valued members of the Sans Souci team to welcome him and answer any questions that he may have had.

Mr. Lopez began working with the Sans Souci therapy department to begin working on ambulation training, endurance and strength training, as well as balance training.

After a month of skilled services and intensive training, Mr. Lopez demonstrated a significant increase in strength and endurance. Mr. Lopez began using a rollator and could navigate 200 feet and ascend 14 stairs with support of handrails!

Mr. Lopez discharged on December 30, 2018 fully ambulatory with use of a rollator. Mr. Lopez shared the following regarding his stay at Sans Souci; “I came to Sans Souci wheelchair bound, unable to walk. Due to the rehabilitation I received at Sans Souci, I am able to walk again independently using a rollator. I thank Sans Souci’s staff for giving me the care and support that I needed to regain my strength and rehabilitate.”

Sans Souci Annual Community Carnival

Our community proudly hosted our annual Summer carnival on august 19th in celebration of an incredible Summer season filled with great success and joy!

The afternoon featured a fun bounce house for the kids, live pony rides, yummy food, face paintings, and so much more! The Sans Souci community is committed to sharing the importance of family and the brand of supporting our patients, residents, families and professional team members!

“Art for Life” 2018!

The Sans Souci community is proud to continue sharing healing modalities through therapeutic recreational programming. Throughout the month of July, residents, patients, and families have had the opportunity to create beautiful individual works of art to display throughout the community. The Art for Life program provides individuals with an opportunity to share and express their creative talents with those around them in hopes to inspire others to unlock their own potential. Visitors, employees and members of the community have been asked to vote for their top three displays for nomination to represent Sans Souci in the national 2019 CareRite Centers annual calendar!

On Veterans Day, the Sans Souci community was privileged to honor resident Veterans and Veterans in the community for their unwavering commitment to our nation! The team distributed homemade pies to Veterans in the Yonkers and surrounding communities in recognition for their service and observance of the upcoming holidays. “Sans Souci is proud to serve those whom have served us!”

Sans Souci Masquerade Ball

Sans Souci was excited to host their Masquerade Ball on November 2nd for social workers in the community who do so much for Sans Souci on a daily basis. The evening featured craft cocktails and networking, followed by a professional Joy and Wellness CEU course. The event rounded out with exhilarating dancing and fun for all those in attendance.

Medical Director Supports Hurricane Victims in Puerto Rico

Sans Souci Celebrates Patriot Day – Recognizes Local First Responders

The Sans Souci community was honored to observe Patriot Day on September 11, 2017 by visiting local first responders in Yonkers, NY and sharing homemade cakes baked in-house by residents and recreation staff. Sans Souci honors those who have served our great nation and humbly recognize those currently serving and those who will serve the United States.

Celebrating 42 Years of Dedication & Compassion

The Sans Souci community was honored to celebrate and recognize Ms. Geraldine Keller for 42 incredible years of service, dedication and commitment to unprecedented levels of patient care. Administration, staff, residents and their families were humbled to celebrate Ms. Keller’s wonderful tenure at Sans Souci alongside representatives from the New York Yankees, whom presented a personalized jersey branded by the number “42” and “Nurse Keller” embroidered on the back. The CareRite Centers Network is proud to share that staff longevity represents a significant portion of the network and that dedicated professionals across the nation comprise what is known as #TheCareRiteDifference.

Copa Cabana Night Club

Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center transformed their community to resemble a “Copa Cabana night club”, and once again opened their doors to the public! Seniors across the area sported brightly colored Panama hats and ostrich feathers while they enjoyed a live samba trio. Dancers, dressed in traditional tropical attire, pulled people onto the dance floor and posed for pictures at the tropically-themed photo booth! An excellent time was had by all!
