Details of Experience:
Patient was admitted to Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on August 24th 2015. Patient;s admitting diagnosis was Paraplegia, Neurogenic Bladder and Diabetes. When she was evaluated by our Therapy Department, she was Maximum assistance with all of her ADL’s and she was Nonambulatory. She was transferred via a Hoyer lift, had poor sitting balance and was not able to propel her manual wheelchair. Hope had a big adjustment as she was very dependent on everyone at first.
She took it with great stride and she started to make a remarkable recovery. As time went by, she gradually improved and was ready for Discharge from Therapy and our community. Patient is now able to ambulate up to 30 feet in the parallel bars. She is able to transfer using a standing pivot transfer and a 1-2 person assist. Hope also has a much improved sitting balance and is able to propel her wheelchair manually up to 75 feet. As Patient moves on from Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, she is optimistic in finding a new career as she is now able to work because her condition greatly improved.
