Sherly Chalmers, RN
Director of Nursing
Sherly graduated from Eastwick College with her BSN from Felician University. Her favorite part of her job is helping others. She shared, “As a nurse I see people at their weakest and darkest moments and at their best. Nurses go through their patients' illnesses and losses, we help them get better and adjust to life changes. We help them cope and heal and return to a normalized lifestyle. My favorite part is the journey I embark on myself, with the patient, through their illness and recovery.” Sherly has been in healthcare since 2007. She started at sister community, The Grove and has now transitioned to the Director of Nursing at our community. Her stepfather is a physician and he used to take her with him to his clinic on weekends and participate in the process of examining patients. When her grandmother got sick, her nurturing and caring nature took over and brought her to nursing. She feels complete when she helps others. In her spare time, she spends time with her mother, nephews and lovely dog. She enjoys reading, walking, cooking and meditating for self healing and improvement.
