Sans Souci Celebrates Heart Health Month! 

Our community proudly welcomed Dr. Theresa Pondok for our annual Heart Health Seminar!

Dr. Pondok specializes in cardiology and internal medicine in Yonkers. This year’s heart health seminar featured educational opportunities for those in attendance, focusing on cardiac awareness, the warning signs of heart disease, and tips for improved health. Thank you, Dr. Pondok, for your incredible presentation and time!

Super Bowl Sunday at Sans Souci! 

Calling all fans of the New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams, and all NFL squads:

Team Sans Souci celebrated Super Bowl LIII with an extraordinary celebration featuring themed food, team gear, and old fashioned football fun! Employees joined residents for fun games during the pregame show and watched together as the Patriots won their record-tying 6th Super Bowl, 13-3!

Super Bowl Sunday didn’t just feature the Patriots’ navy blue or the Rams’ throwback uniforms as the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants were well represented here at Sans Souci!

“Motivational Interviewing: Communication for Change” CEU Event

In association with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), we were proud to present our co-hosted CEU event, “Motivational Interviewing: Communication for Change,” for the White Plains region!The educational event was in efforts to review the underlying theories and principles of motivational interviewing, and how one can utilize these techniques to best assist the families and community members they work with. CEU credits were provided to those in attendance.
Sans Souci Annual Community Carnival

Our community proudly hosted our annual Summer carnival on august 19th in celebration of an incredible Summer season filled with great success and joy! 

The afternoon featured a fun bounce house for the kids, live pony rides, yummy food, face paintings, and so much more! The Sans Souci community is committed to sharing the importance of family and the brand of supporting our patients, residents, families and professional team members!  

“Art for Life” 2018!
The Sans Souci community is proud to continue sharing healing modalities through therapeutic recreational programming. Throughout the month of July, residents, patients, and families have had the opportunity to create beautiful individual works of art to display throughout the community. The Art for Life program provides individuals with an opportunity to share and express their creative talents with those around them in hopes to inspire others to unlock their own potential. Visitors, employees and members of the community have been asked to vote for their top three displays for nomination to represent Sans Souci in the national 2019 CareRite Centers annual calendar! #RecreationRocks


Sans Souci Senior Event: “Dancing with the Stars!” 
From the red carpet and dancing their way into our residents’ hearts, Sans Souci was excited to host their Dancing with the Stars event, inviting local seniors and community guests to enjoy an afternoon of fun, food, and dancing!

Honoring Our Community Veterans
On Veterans Day, the Sans Souci community was privileged to honor resident Veterans and Veterans in the community for their unwavering commitment to our nation! The team distributed homemade pies to Veterans in the Yonkers and surrounding communities in recognition for their service and observance of the upcoming holidays. “Sans Souci is proud to serve those whom have served us!” #VeteransDay2017

Sans Souci Masquerade Ball
Sans Souci was excited to host their Masquerade Ball on November 2nd for social workers in the community who do so much for Sans Souci on a daily basis. The evening featured craft cocktails and networking, followed by a professional Joy and Wellness CEU course. The event rounded out with exhilarating dancing and fun for all those in attendance.
Medical Director Supports Hurricane Victims in Puerto Rico
Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is proud to share that Medical Director, Dr. Ammir Rabadi was recently highlighted for his incredible heroic efforts of supporting hurricane victims in Puerto Rico. We are so proud of our selfless caregivers who live our mission daily. Thank you, Dr. Rabadi for your commitment to helping others.

Sans Souci Celebrates Patriot Day; Recognizes Local First Responders 
The Sans Souci community was honored to observe Patriot Day on September 11, 2017 by visiting local first responders in Yonkers, NY and sharing homemade cakes baked in-house by residents and recreation staff. Sans Souci honors those who have served our great nation and humbly recognize those currently serving and those who will serve the United States.

Sans Souci team members were excited to face-off against CareRite sister community, The Grove at Valhalla, in a friendly intramural game of softball! Team members joined together on a beautiful afternoon to enjoy each other’s company and sportsmanship. Go team Sans Souci!

Celebrating 42 Years of Dedication & Compassion 
The Sans Souci community was honored to celebrate and recognize Ms. Geraldine Keller for 42 incredible years of service, dedication and commitment to unprecedented levels of patient care. Administration, staff, residents and their families were humbled to celebrate Ms. Keller’s wonderful tenure at Sans Souci alongside representatives from the New York Yankees, whom presented a personalized jersey branded by the number “42” and “Nurse Keller” embroidered on the back. The CareRite Centers Network is proud to share that staff longevity represents a significant portion of the network and that dedicated professionals across the nation comprise what is known as #TheCareRiteDifference.
Copa Cabana Night Club
Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center transformed their community to resemble a “Copa Cabana night club”, and once again opened their doors to the public! Seniors across the area sported brightly colored Panama hats and ostrich feathers while they enjoyed a live samba trio. Dancers, dressed in traditional tropical attire, pulled people onto the dance floor and posed for pictures at the tropically-themed photo booth! An excellent time was had by all!
Mardi Gras Celebration
On Tuesday, February 28th, Sans Souci residents celebrated Mardi Gras! Each Resident received their very own Mardi Gras mask, which they all enjoyed immensely. There was even a Steel Drum performance that accompanied this amazing event. Everyone had a fabulous time!

Heart Health Seminar 2017
Sans Souci was excited to host their annual Heart Healthy Seminar for local seniors in the community. The community had the pleasure of hearing from Carol Cook, RD who spoke about a healthy diet and how to prevent heart disease (through how and what you eat). Eliana Almonte, OT spoke about how proper exercise is important in prevention of heart disease as well.
All guests were treated to a lovely spread from Panera Bread. As an added bonus, Sans Souci celebrated one of their resident’s 100th Birthday and all in attendance graced her with a Happy Birthday song!
Sans Souci would like to thank their Therapy Department, Marketing Team, and Administration Team for making this event an amazing success!

Dinner with the Chef
On Thursday, February 16th, the residents of Sans Souci were treated to a special “Dinner with the Chef,” catered by the amazing Dietary Department. The fabulous Recreation Department, headed by Leduc Le, arranged the entertainment and beautiful ambiance for this special evening.
100th Birthday Celebration
Sans Souci recently celebrated the Birthday Party of a lifetime as Evelyn T. turned 100! There was a special party with amazing entertainment as all the top hits of the last 100 years were played! Each person in attendance received a piece of birthday cake, and it was a pleasure to welcome Evelyn’s family to Sans Souci to join us for this momentous occasion!
Veterans Day 2016
Sans Souci was proud to honor the in house veterans at Sans Souci, as well as the veterans within the local community, on Veterans day. The day began with a Veterans Breakfast for all in-house staff and resident veterans. The new Veterans Board, which will stay current honoring all Veterans in our Community, was also unveiled!

Sans Souci Carnival a Success!

Sans Souci was excited to host their annual carnival on August 7th! There were games, a petting zoo, delicious food, and fun for the whole family. All had a great day!

Sans Souci French Cabaret Event

Heart Health Seminar

On Tuesday, February 2nd, Sans Souci hosted a successful heart health seminar for local community members. Over thirty attendees learned about the importance of heart health from Dr. Binoy K. Singh. There was a delicious luncheon and great giveaways as well. Sans Souci is proud to offer these educational seminars to the local community.

Fashion Show for the Cure!

Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center hosted a fabulous Fashion Show event on Thursday, November 12th, from 5:30pm-8:30pm, raising funds for the Susan G. Komen For the Cure. Guests included local social workers and case managers; some were even a part of the Fashion Show! Along with the show, there were amazing performances by the Joffrey Ballet School, as well as makeup tutorials and makeovers from MAC Makeup Artists.

It was an evening of relaxation, laughs, and of course, fashion and fun. Thank you for joining us!

Sans Souci on the Links!

Ari Grinspan, Ramon Lerma, Johnathan Chung and Jaimy Barnett participated in St. Johns Riverside Hospital’s annual Marty and Iris Walshin Memorial Golf Outing at the Knollwood Country Club on June 8, 2015. And on June 23rd 2015, we participated in St. Josephs Hospital Annual Golf Outing at Fenway Country Club. Sans Souci’s sponsorship went to enhance St. Johns ICU and St. Josephs Health Fund (non for profit). CareRite and Sans Souci’s participation was recognized by both hospitals as an outstanding corporate sponsor, and furthers our commitment to the vitality of Yonkers two premier hospitals.

Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center held their Spring Carnival on Sunday, June 14th. It was an afternoon of laughs for the whole family! There were games, delicious snacks, a DJ, and even a photo booth! It was an excellent day of community fun; thank you for joining us!

The Dominican Cultural Association of Yonkers 12th Anniversary Gala

On June 5th, Dr. Rabadi was honored by The Dominican Cultural Association of Yonkers at their 12th Anniversary Gala. Dr. Rabadi was presented with the Excellence Award as Yonkers’ finest Family Practice Physician. He was presented the award by Marisol Mancebo, Vice President of the ACDY. The Keynote speaker was The Honorable Adriano Espaillat, Senator, New York State 31st District. The Woman of Distinction Award was awarded to The Honorable Shelley Mayer, who is a champion for seniors and friend to Sans Souci!

This event exemplifies Dr. Rabadi’s commitment to the community, Sans Souci and of course excellence.

TeamSansSouciNational Nursing Home Week at Sans Souci

National Nursing Home Week was quite a success!

On Monday, The residents had their first ever Senior Olympics, an event enjoyed by every single person that attended. It was an amazing sight!

On Tuesday, Sans Souci showcased the amazing things we do on a daily basis.

On Wednesday, we held our Staff Luncheon and Spa Day. All of our team members were treated to a gourmet lunch served by our Administrative team thanking them for all the hard work they do all year long. In addition to the lunch, each employee was awarded a complimentary ten minute Spa massage from a Professional masseuse.

On Resident Appreciation day, all residents received wonderful gifts as a token of appreciation for being who they are and being a part of our amazing community. We also had a special entertainer come making a whole array of different balloon for all our residents to enjoy.

To cap off Spirit week, we brought an Ice cream truck to Sans Souci giving every employee/family/vendor a complimentary ice cream cone as a token of appreciation. Sans Souci had a great National Nursing Home Week!

 Sans Souci Latin Fiesta

Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center hosted a fun and festive Latin Fiesta on Wednesday, May 27th. All in attendance enjoyed the photo booth with accessories, the lively mariachi band and flamenco dancers, as well as the delicious authentic Spanish cuisine.

It was a wonderful afternoon shared between Sans Souci and the community.

 Sans Souci Celebrates Arbor Day with the Commissioner of Yonkers Parks and Recreation

On April 24th, Sans Souci Rehabilitation and Nursing Center celebrated Arbor Day with Commissioner Yvette E. Hartsfield and Deputy Commissioner Steve Sansone. The administrator of Sans Souci, Ari Grinspan, participated in the Barton Park Tree Planting on High Street and Morningside. Sans Souci is proud to support the community of Yonkers.

Sans Souci and Dr. Rabadi Honors Mayor Spano

Dr. Rabadi and Sans Souci have once again have forged a partnership with Michael Spano to provide exemplary service to the Yonkers community. Dr. Rabadi sponsored and Sans Souci hosted the event honoring Mayor Michael Spano at the Eagles Nest Cigar Lounge. Mayor Spano acknowledged Dr. Rabadi and Sans Souci for their continued support and commitment to excellence in the Yonkers community. The participants enjoyed and appreciated the stainless steel Sans Souci cigar cutters that were handed out. Aryeh Grinspan and Dr. Rabadi presented Mayor Spano with a custom engraved Cigar Humidor, and Sans Souci presented him with a cake for his upcoming birthday. Truly a successful evening filled with networking, affirming relationships and excellent conversation.

Senior Health Seminar with Dr. Eric M. Spencer

The kickoff Senior Health Seminar held recently for our residents and families was very entertaining and exceptionally informative. It featured Dr Eric M. Spencer an orthopedic surgeon Dr Eric Spencer at Southern Westchester Orthopedics and Londe Givan, Director of Therapies at Sans Souci. Both presented topics related to hip and knee fractures. The event included education,exercises, entertainment and lots of refreshment, a great time was had by all. The residents enjoyed the event and asked pertinent questions. A full buffet was served and enjoyed by all and a flat panel TV was raffled. Mr David Blatt, Dir. of Marketing topped the festivities up with a brilliant magic performance.
